Alistair Vennart is an award-winning Violist, Arranger and Educator hailing from Manchester, UK. He has collaborated with some of the world’s most renowned artists both as a Violist and Arranger, and sits comfortably within a huge range of musical genres.

Recent highlights include arranging a 60 minute programme for a collaboration between Casi Wyn and Sinfonia Cymru, orchestrating the music of Vessel for a double-bill at King’s Place, and curating a genre-defying programme for ‘Low String Quartet’.

Alistair is a member of Manchester Camerata, and plays with Manchester Collective, the Hallé, Northern Chamber Orchestra, Aurora Orchestra and Le Cercle de l'Harmonie. He has performed in many well-known concert halls across Europe, as well as touring Asia and the Middle East.

Alongside his established performance and arranging career, Alistair leads RNCM Young Violas, a free programme for children aged 5-18, and continues to be Viola Tutor at Leeds University. He is also a member of Sinfonia Cymru’s Board of Directors.

 

 Alistair was born in Leicester, grew up in Northumberland, and now lives in Manchester. He plays on a Viola by Don Tatem, a bow by Louis Bazin, and when arranging uses Sibelius Ultimate and Reaper.
